Pudsey Bear and Lavender

I finished Pudsey Bear on Tuesday evening. He was easy to stitch with only full stitches and backstitch. Having yellow as the main colour meant more time for stitching and less time for changing the threads.
Wednesday I stitched a lavender pot design. This will be used for my mum's birthday card. I know I said I was going to do a poppy design but I did the lavender instead. The lavender was done with full stitches only. On the chart it had a bit of backstitch for the bow and steam, but I didn't do them.
Thursday I did a Thank You design, done in full stitches and backstitch. This will be used for a card which will be given to my Grandmother. It's always nice to send people a Thank You card if they have given you a present at any time of year (even if you didn't like it!). It's just nice to show them that you appercaite the thought.

As planned I started the third design during the weekend. I managed to get most of the stitching done by Sunday evening. Monday I finished the stitching and did the backstitch. Now the third design is finished.
Just like the reindeer and seal, the elf design was done in full stitches, backstitch and french knots for the eyes. If you don't like doing french knots then you can easily replace them with seed beads. Personally I like doing frensh knots.
Shortly after I finished the elf design, I started doing Pudsey Bear. If you like stitching in blocks of colour then he is a good design for you since he is done in a block of yellow. To find a Pudesy Bear chart, look in Cross Stitcher magazine issue 207.

Design Number 2

It's Friday and I should have finished my fifth design today. That's not the case. Mind you, I have finished the seal design this afternoon. I only had a little bit of backstitch to do which didn't take long to do.
The seal and reindeer designs contains full stitches and a couple of french knots. Although I have stitched them within a couple of days, they don't take long to stitch. The recommended stitch time in the magazine is 1 day for each design. I started both of the designs in the afternoon so that's my reason why they took longer to stitch.
I'll be starting the third design this weekend which is a little girl elf carrying a present. Once I've finished her I will be doing a poppy design which will be for mum's birthday card. Then I'm planning on stitching Pudsey Bear since Children In Need is coming up next month.
well that's my stitching plan for next week. It should work out as planned!

Throw out target!

It's midweek and I should be on my third design. There's no such luck! I have managed to stitch the reindeer design during the weekend. Started it on Friday, finished stitching it on Saturday and did the backstitch on Sunday.
Monday I became under the weather and was not in the mood for stitching. Tuesday I started doing the seal design but haven't picked up the needle since. I am feeling better today but still not in a stitching mood. So instead I made my third and final Autumn ATC.
I am planning on picking up the needle again tomorrow and finish the seal design. I've become one of those stitchers who need to finish one design before moving on to the next. Although I do have an All Our Yesterday design that I started back in August still finish!

Xmas Stitching Target

I'm planning on starting my Christmas stitching this weekend. It's never too late to start, although I tend to start around this time of year. And this year I am planning on making small cards for everyone who takes part in my ATC swap. There's a few right there.
First on my list to stitch is the new characters designed by Adam Pescott. These characters can be found in the 'Enjoy Cross Stitching at Christmas!' magazine, which is in stores now. I'll be doing all six characters and the three scenes. I wonder how far I will go with this? My target is to stitch all siz characters by Sunday 25th. (mind you it is my first time setting myself a target, this might help me get more stitching done!) This should a character a day, but I'm having the feeling it won't work out that way.
